Old news
Cover story
This happened during my whirlwind few weeks moving up to Boston, but it's kinda cool. My most recent journal paper was selected as the cover story for the journal, and they requested a graphic from me. Above is what appeared. That's my pet gecko Monkey's foot in the photograph. He's now officially more famous than me. I've got one last journal paper in the pipeline, then much-less-to-no publishing now that i'm working on secret-ish projects at my new job.

We're back
Cambridge Apartment
Oh, hello there. We're back in business on a new server at SliceHost. Thanks to Tom7 as always for getting a lot of the gears turning behind the scenes. Behind the scenes in real life, Erin and I fully made our move to Cambridge, MA. If you'd been to my place in Pittsburgh, you can tell we've classed it up a notch or 2 from the photo of our kitchen.

Things are settling down a bit, so I hope to be able to start getting back into art, photography, and other good stuff.

We're going down!
My association with CMU is coming to an end this weekend, and with it goes the privilege of a free awesome place to host my webserver. So, while i figure out what to do next, this website, and all my others will be down. Cheers!

Big changes
Big Dog
I have officially accepted a job offer to go work for Boston Dynamics! They are a small robotics company who make some pretty impressive robots. You may recognize their relatively famous robot above from Youtube or the Colbert Report. Or it may remind you of some other robot. This isn't the project i'll be starting on, but it is pretty damn cool.

The tough part is leaving Pittsburgh so abruptly (in 4 days!) without having a lot of time to properly say goodbye to lots of friends and my brother/roommate/comrade. I'll be back for graduation though. It's a pretty big change after being essentially in school full time for 23 years.

In other news, a couple friends and i have entered a business plan competition at Stern Business School at NYU, and have made it to the finals (top 5 of ~100 teams). We'll be pitching on Friday for the grand prize. So, that means i'm staying busy and spent too much time on this post. Gotta pack!

Hierarchy Paper Published
Synthetic Hierarchical Gecko Hairs
My new paper was published online today. I'm still very impressed with this journal's speed and embrace of technology. You can find the paper here. You may need to register to obtain access. If you just want the summary to get the idea, check out the new lab webpage.
